Apple is frequently the first to incorporate new technologies. USB, ditching the floppy drive, airport wireless networking, firewire. I remember when I had my iBook on campus back in 2002. I was one of the ONLY people that had wireless. A few buildings offered it, and I didn't see many other people sitting around on their laptops, unless they had an illuminated Apple shining on their lap.:)
I wouldn't be surprised if Apple was one of the first to use Blu-Ray, especially seeing they are a contributing company. They have a tendency to take new technologies and make them mainstream. They did it with the Apple II, the original Mac, and they continue to do it today.

Quality is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more important to me, than price.

When I see those delicious trailers, I cry for movies like that. Please God make it happen. 720p would be unbelievable, but I would believe it.
Why buy an HD DVD player when you can download the movies at 720P... That would be good enough for me... Of course it depends on how much compression they use to make the file size smaller.. Also, would I be able to stop and resume downloading of the files?
We will find out I guess.

At macworld 2007 Apple will announce that you can download The Beatles music on iTunes and possible there will be a Beatles branded iPod.
That may not be so far-fetched. Imagine a "true" video iPod with the Beatles brand that allows you to download A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Yellow Submarine and Let It Be onto the player for free. :)

Final Cut X is coming! It seems to have all the stuff i'm dying for.. maybe even CUDA support! Damn now I got to sell my CS5 production suite..
And yeah if you want you can still use iMovie and feel good about it. I know enough people who got a great result out of it because they did not get stuck with tech they didn't understand. All these opinions about personal choices is a total waste of time.
Rejoice the choice and do something creative with all this energy
(FCP is rendering so I have time to waste lol...)

Really? I heard that you can connect and external monitor using a hack software for dual screen support . But it does not support the cinema displays.

Unless you're driving a BMW, Honda or Porsche, gear shifters on modern cars either are too "notchy" or overly-vague in terms of finding a gear, and the result is not very pleasant, especially in city driving.

It turns out the 2.66 Ghz 8 core chips are about the same price as 3.0 Ghz 4 core chips. So the price differential will be product positioning, not raw cost.

There's still the practical limitations of using a touchscreen as a control device, though. It's never going to be as tactile as a controller with buttons and joysticks. Not to mention having the HDMI adaptor sticking out of the side of the iPad while you're holding it to play games...
Apart from that, I'm glad to see the iPad is able to hold its own as a gaming machine.

I, for one, think the iMac and Mac Mini will get Merom due to their form factors, and a yet to be announced minitower will get Conroe (just ask AidenShaw).
But that's not true! If Apple puts in Merom, I want to see it even thinner... the very same case held a G5, much more demanding than Conroe, as of last October.
