They both collect, advertising revenue. They don't 'pay'.
Not in the business model, sorry. ;)How much advertising are they losing getting when a popular video gets pulled. Lets say a possible 500,000 views that the record labels want taken down. It is in Google's best interest to keep these videos up.

The bookmark folder was there, but it was empty. I suspect that Safari locates the I.E. bookmarks when you install it but that it somehow failed to do it when I installed the beta or upgraded from the beta release to the full version. In any case, I uninstalled and reinstalled Safari and this time the bookmarks appeared. Thanks.

Turn 3G off maybe? The iPad doesn't support T-Mobile's 3G service.

Hey folks, got a 2.6 i5 MBP here and at times it gets a bit too hot, especially during Skype of all things? Not a major problem.
I have downloaded and intalled iStat which looks a cool piece of software - accessed via the 'DashBoard' but what I would prefer is to have the temperature, cpu usage, fan speed etc constantly displayed, somewhere on my screen regardless of what I am doing - is this possible?
Thanks
James

I reported him to the moderators, and he was banned shortly after. I think his banning is justified. He was spamming, plain and simple. If you don't have anything meaningful to add, don't post.
and why do you care so much if the guy says " i agree" or whatever?
what is the big deal?

You are not stealing on You Tube, everything is streamed. They are going to go after page views because no physical media is being downloaded.

How about you help me clean out my guttering, install my new home entertainment system or cook me dinner?
I am really sick of people expecting free work, what you are asking maybe a 20 minutes hour job (tops) due to the fact I work in Weather Graphic but relying on $10K of equipment, $45K HECS Debt for a university degree and over 10 years worth of industry experience...
Asking for someone to working without reparation of some sort is completely unreasonable and devalues what many designers work for (and that is money).
What most designers don't mind is pointing people in the right direction, critiquing or giving them references to work from, not actually doing it because you do not have the skill level or can't be bothered doing the work yourself.
I feel compelled to respond to this post. I hope you can take this the right way.
Why I feel compelled is I have been following similar threads like this and it seems you appear in every one with a similar response. As if you're looking out for such threads.
The OP never asked for a professional for free help. He didn't ask for someone with huge investments in software, equipment and education to give him a helping hand. Yet you respond as if he directly asked you for help.
What if he wanted someone who had some knowledge and experience for some advice. Someone who's good at what they do but do it as a hobby. I'm sure there are many of us that are willing to help people and I sincerely hope it's not wishful thinking on my part. I also cannot believe that you got to where you currently are without a helping hand or freebie at some point of your life. I know I have learned most of what I do from asking people at IRC and Usenet and now regular forums and I'm grateful for their help and wish to return the favor to others who need it.
Josh.

I have the Altec Lansing 2.1 FX 6021 speakers and they are awesome.
Unfortunately the sub blew and was searching for a similar type of audio performance/design/price range for 2.1 speakers.
Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!
I would go with M-Audio AV-40s (2.0 but good bass response) or Logitech Z-2300. Personally I use both. The M-Audio speakers are Pro-grade and provide really clear sound. The Z-2300's have good sound and more "power".
Cheers

And i couldnt help but notice you have a macbook air 13". How do you find it? :) You dont find the screen too small to program on do you?
I've written several iPhone and iPad apps now selling in the App store on an MBA 11. Screen size of the 11 isn't a problem for me.
For serious debugging of iPad apps, it's occasionally nice to have the option to plug a large external monitor into the MBA 11. But on the road I've done without just fine.

If you have the grey Restore DVD or the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD, you could perform a Clean Install (or Erase and Install), as you will need the admin password once a day or so.
Short version: Clean Install of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (http://guides.macrumors.com/Clean_Install_of_OS_X_10.6_Snow_Leopard)
Long version: Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard: How to Erase and Install (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3910)
You could also try this: Mac OS X: Changing or resetting an account password (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1274)

Boinc on Osx 10.57 doesn't crunch with the Nvidia 9400m?
While I was trying out Win 7 I installed Boinc and Seti@home was crunching with the cpu and gpu.
As far as I know Nvidia and ATI have bugs in the drivers that will not be fixed for GPU crunching until snow leopard is out and new science apps are written to take advantage of it. I think Open CL is the programing API that fixes this with new drivers and OSX side stuff. I am told the science apps will need to be recompiled and maybe rewritten. I have questions posted on the BOINC and SETI message boards asking about this.

I just bought this case for my iPad and now I am thinking of buying for my iPod touch as well! I seriously love the look and feel of it. Incipio did a great job with the design and material! Good luck...

MBA's also don't have a super drive, backlit keyboard, or ethernet port. I'd go with the MBP. The 13" MBP is still extremely light. For your uses as well, I would not recommend a C2D processor when Sandy Bridge is in the market. If you really still want a MBA, wait until they are refreshed with SB processors.
