You have to save the disk image to another drive other than the one your are making an image of. You can't copy something onto itself. In other words, you need a second hard drive or another partician to save to.

ok found the answer: FireWire 400 to 800 Adapter!

The mac server I use remotely recently had a change in user name and password. I am trying to connect with the new password, and it won't even prompt me for username and password. It just tells me I can't connect. It is not in my Keychain or anywhere else. How do I fix this? Help!:confused:

eva01 gives great advice. Just to add to it, you don't need to think about AppleCare straight away. You get it standard for the first year of your Mac anyway and you can purchase it anytime within that year. :)

'Cause when I got "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell" I was disappointed. It had the same stuff from the website with a tiny bit of extra content.
Same thing happened to me with the Tucker Max book. The website for this one claims 60% new material... Thats good enough for me lol.

The affiliate name doesn't automatically mean that it's Macrumors who are the ultimate beneficiary, but it does seem suspicious, particularly when you reported the thread and it remains: I would agree that an affiliate link breaks the site rules

I still think it should be made clear that you are LOSING FILES FOREVER, as in, they don't even go into the Trash or anything. Just, poof, just a casual drag and you're screwed. When you're sitting in a coffee shop just casually moving things around on your hard drive, you do not think about such things.
DataRescueX charges WAY too much for me. As much as I would like my notes back, $100 for 1 gig is over the top, and it doesn't seem you can get a smaller plan for just, say, a 20MB file. It doesn't look like it found my file anyway, since the "gibberish" header it displayed didn't match the gibberish of similar files.
I think I'm going to have to chalk up the loss, re-read everything we've done in the class and make new "class notes" of my own. Unfortunately, I hadn't done a backup since we're just two weeks into the quarter. Fortunately, I did find an audio file of a few of the lectures, so I have a little something to go off. :o

Dang that's cheap! Though I have a fear of Hynix RAM from having many issues with its non-ecc desktop series in the past. Hope they hold up well and won't produce errors. No problems with total RAM detection\compatibility etc. for you ?

Can you use virtual instruments with Garageband like various Native Instruments products, Garritan, First Call Horns etc etc? Thanks.
I know for sure NI has AU format plugins for Mac. not sure about Garritan but I think they do.

I want better voice implementation and for apple to add free gps with good map software no more just google maps we need something better for traveling instead of having to buy a gps app. Like something android has.
I didn't include software features in the original question since the iPhone 4 will (hopefully :)) get those when Apple releases iOS 5. Seems like the only thing separating the 4 and 5 will be hardware features...
