I have responsed and sent sample letter to all requests I got before 8 AM PST this morning. Also, sent out the contact info for the TSC officer.
Please do not email me and ask me how to reach an officer at TSC. I have already posted the instructions in this thread so that everyone can see/use it.

Where is your case? You should call and talk to an IO and find out. It will be good if the IO can put in a note in your case on which 140 needs to be used. After around 100 calls, I managed to talk to a very friendly IO, she put in a note and asked for my file to be pulled out of storage (I believe that is what happened in my case). I was on the phone for around 20 minutes with this IO and I couldnt believe how a IO could be so friendly and polite :) Have you treid CIS Ombudsman and USCIS Sec. Napolitano?

No It was not a joke.
If you think you earn way more then go ahead and contribute more. I just put dollar amounts in front. Many desis here work at 55-65K per year and that is roughly $30 an hour. The ideas is get off your high horses and earn money through sheer labor to get the job of funds done. I see no problem with that.

Because I doubt that anyone willing to wash my car for a few bucks is highly skilled. Personally, I prefer, give 1 day of salary - that's way over $25, and far more effective (I get paid more than $25 for the time it takes to wash a car).

I think we should emphasize HR 5882 and write to:
1. The President ASAP
2. Immigration Subcommittee
3. All CHC members
The intention is to bring this bill to the floor this year and make sure it is passed.
I think people with PD 2001, 2002 and 2003 should definitely write as they have a better case than the 2006 or 2007 filers.
This is our last opportunity this year to let go.

Thank you for the reply. When you say that if I go with Company A that there will be more scrutiny, do you mean they will check the vailidity of the offer and their ability to pay? I work for a Govt. Agency(Company C), they will give me an EVL but I am not sure if they will specify "in accordance with I140". I am actually doing the same job, same place, before as a contractor(Company A) and now as an Employee(Company C).
This is what you could do. Take the updated EVL letter from your HR/ Supervisor. Attach latest paystubs as additional proof. Now for duties if the EVL does not contain this info then attach a copy of job posting advertisement that was issued when you were hired. Every govt job needs to be advertised. It can be in papers or their own website. Then get the lawyer to draft the AC21 letter and to point out the similarities between this job and your labor.

How will it march steadily when we have less than 3000 numbers for the year?
I am sure we have many pplicants with PD in 2002 and 2003. I would be surprised if PD moves beyond April 2002 in FY 2009.

If you are greened since Sept 1 - please vote and let all rest of our community know what worked for you or what did you do "special" to revive your case and get the much awaited approval this September.
This will give idea to other members to use the means to do the same and get the peace of mind you are experiencing.

1. several calls to TSC and one IO in TSC initiated a request for case to be assigned to an IO.
2. The nicest IO i ever met at an INFOPASS at Memphis office. She is the one who really got it done for me as she spoke to TSC IO and insisted my case to be assigned. She also wrote email to TSC asking that case should be assigned as dates are current. There was a problem in Biometrics upload and she got is fixed too.
3. My congressman also called TSC but by the time the Memphis IOs email and call had me approved already.

Looks like they are going to use the unused EB visa numbers for FB.To me, this is family reunification bill and most likely will not have any benefit for us.
I think we need to study the bill in detail before we jump to any conclusions.
From reading the summary in the AILA website, specifically the below :
The legislation would reinforce our commitment to families and reduce current wait times in the family immigration system by:
�Recapturing an estimated 400,000 family-sponsored and employment-based visas that went unused between 1992 and 2007.
Atleast to me it seems like the bill plans on using all the unused visas from the past years and apply that towards the family quota. Not sure if that would help the EB cause.
Inputs anyone?

I think it is a good think to respond to the people who offended you, but it is naive to think something will be done just by CNN getting a letter with thousands of signatures.
If you feel you are offended or prejudiced, why not pursue a lawsuit for defamation/moral damages? I think this is perfectly fit for a judge to decide. Only this way the small can affect the big.
Or, why not try to appear on the show and talk against the lies Tancredo said? I bet Lou Dobbs would love that, as it would increase audience.
A petition like this, directly to CNN, is, in my point of view, a waste of time and effort. It's not going to be read and will be thrown into the trash can as soon as it is opened there.
