That ain't happening, either. The best G4 Motorola has ever done was the 7410. Those Dual 533MHzs kicked other arses!
On the other hand, for productivity, the Macintosh experience is the simply best and fastest, but as a research computer, I'll take a quad Xeon running FreeBSD 5.0 for the price of a high end Power Mac G4, thank you. Otherwise, if I want to get my **** done, I'll simply buy an iMac 800MHz with the best desktop OS.

Open Max, then open Preferences (CMD+,), go to the Formats "tab", select the format you wish to transcode to from the "Available output formats:" and add it via the + sign to the above list and set everything to your liking.
Then go to the Output "tab" and select the option you like under the Locations: Output files: dropdown list.
Then close the preferences and add the files and folders you like and click the "Convert" button.
Or do you need more simplified help in navigating Mac OS X and such?

Apple has periods in which they allow people to apply for AppleSeed accounts. The purpose is to help them test their OS updates and releases in environments they are not able to replicate themselves. To this end I am not sure how your friend can 'get' you a seed account, legitimately. if you go the AppleSeed page you are generally greeted with the message
"We are not seeking new participants. You must have an invitation in order to log in."
That being said, anything relating to the seeds you would download are covered by NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and are legally binding. So your answer would be you cannot, legally, talk about those issues in any other forum then the one they provide.
The Select and Premier account levels allow the principle owner to give out Seed access to any ADC member. That means if you have a free account, and I'm a Premier member, I could give you seed access.

Personally, I so wish that was true. But in reality, not all fat persons eat meat, and not all skinny people are vegetarians.
You can be a vegan and still stuff yourself full with carbonates, sugar and lots of different fats.
While I agree Steve Jobs don't strike me as a half a** kinda guy. Not a I don't eat meat I just eat bread and cheese vegetarian. Vegans are usually all in. All vegans that I know (and that is not nearly representative sample) are very frail looking. Many of whom looked normal before changing their diet.

Do these companies really want people to pay for the same content twice? Surely they can't realistically expect to a get premium for viewing in the same location but just through a different medium?

No, it doesn't. The Unix backend that powers OS X is pretty much Apple built by now (Darwin/XNU don't at all ressemble their ancestors) and I don't think Apple is a SysV licensee, so they don't share any code from most commercial Unix systems.
The only thing they share with those other Unix systems is having passed the certification suite from The Open Group.
However I do agree with you that the other guy doesn't really have a clue. Windows is about as flexible as a concrete slab and as versatile as a blade of grass in the networking arena. The only reason it's so widespread in the server arena is because you need to multiply the number of installations just to get a working LDAP directory that resists logon requests from 5 client boxes. Meanwhile, any commercial Unix worth its salt can serve up many times more requests from a single box, while consolidating other services as well.
ATMs might run Windows, but the backend they connect to is a Unix system (and actually, my bank here still uses some version of OS/2 Warp for their ATMs, something I found out after finding a DoS bug in the card reader that crashed their software and forced a reboot).

You right. But that's a very common theory here on these threads. I use that analogy to suggest how ridiculous that would be if Apple really did remove it to 'differentiate' the product lines.
I've heard that they removed it because they couldn't fit it into the current MBA (which is thinner than before). Makes sense to me. Personally, I've had numerous MBPs and the original MBA. I've found I don't really miss it.

this has nothing to do with iPads i suppose but a co-worker and I at lunch yesterday had our iPhones out (me ATT & Co-worker VZW) he could not get any bars and therefore his apps were useless for 3G (we were trying a GPS Map) and I got on and got teh voice commands within 30 seconds. I had 4 bars, he had none. He said his Verizon iPhone was about useless for any service. he had ATT before but the company has a Verizon plan and his phone is company paid...

I don't want a boring DVD. I want Lion to come on one of those cool MacBook Air-style memory sticks, only compatible with ThunderBolt.
I too think a USB installation stick would be cool, but easy to lose, I'd imagine! On the flip-side, you can scratch DVDs.

Unfortunately, the republicans have fought tooth and nail against tax increases and have tried to balance a 26 billion dollar deficit with cuts. Best I can tell, he/she is talking calmly, non-partisanly about (1) whether the article's conclusion is proper in light of other, relevant economic factors, and (2) how income tax affects his/her decision on where to reside.

Reasonable spending that targets necessary services, along with reasonably higher tax rates, has worked in the past. We are undoing decades of progress so that we can push an economic model that has never worked in the past.
