My Lawyer does whatever my employer tells him. They never give any receipt notice or approval notice to employees.
They did not even let me file my EAD and AP along with I-485.
I can file EAD/AP myself but I'm worried they might not give me the receipt notice of my I-485 filed in july, in a last ditch effort to prevent me from fleeing(I don't yet have any intention btw) or atleast make it difficult for me.
I'm sure there would be many in this situation.
Any thoughts what can be done?

It doesn't matter...if it is substitution case or not. Everybody deserves a fair chance of the pie.
Hopefully no one replies to your post as yours is substitution case.
I think nchendica should contact his lawyer and ask them to reevaluate your degree and these rejections have been succesfully won. You can search similar cases on immigration.com website. Contact a good lawyer; it is still not too late.

I too have become obsessive compulsive about the back focus issue.
I can see it (barely) when I use the kit lens.
It is Not there with the 50mm 1.8 Nikkor I have tried as well.
To the average user, you would never notice it. As far as I can tell, my BF is about 5mm behind what I lock on to. You really only see it if you are wide open and zoomed way in.
Im not sure if I want to bother sending it in. (Hassle)
Other than this issue I must tell you that the D70 is a fantastic camera!
I've used tons of cameras and this one functions beautifully.
It gets excellent color. (Skintones blow Canons away)

It seems like USCIS is taking steps to up the revenue. I wonder if the next step would be to allow for 485 premium processing.

I have been on H1B for 3000 days so far and I am still waiting for GC, (filed for 140/485 in November) and I thought I have been waiting for too long, but it looks like one of these people might actually qualify for Guinness Book.
3000 days might seem small when compared to a member's data whom I spoke with during the Sept Rally time. He has been here on a work visa since 1994 and unfortunately he had to start his greencard process several times. He was thankful that he finally got his I140 approved and filed I485 this year after such a long wait.
He was calling members and asking them to join the rally as he truly values IV and the fact that due to IV he could file his I485. I was very impressed with his dedication for IV and also felt sorry that he and his family had to endure such a long wait.

Please don't put message which look like something is confirmed like your topic “Secret news! Per country limit would be removed”.
this sense like something confirmed and people will come and read.
don't feel bad if people are pointing you for something good for everybody.

And Code 1 means red alert uh
Code 1 = if you applied EAD only (Index Fingers + Photo)
Code 2 = if you applied I-485 only (All Fingers only - FBI Name Check)
Code 3 = if you applied I=485 + EAD
I may have code 1 & 2 reversed :-) But thats the overall concept...

What if Employer & Lawyer are NOT willing to share a copy of Labor and no proof of Labor clearance has come from USCIS? Lawyer only says labor has been clear. What are the options?

in korea great unhappines and people flocking back to stores due to another d70 problem...blooming. maybe a storm in a teacup, but some reviews also mention it. blooming has nothing to do with lenses or the operator.. it's a hardware problem.

I second manoj's demand, we need representation. Power to single members of IV, let our issues be heard. This will help resolve the H4 dependent issue. Since future IVer would both be on H1-b. Thanks to this idea :D

So, is that a yes on getting USCIS to follow the law? As I said, it is about getting USCIS to follow the law, it is not EB2/EB3 centric. Given that the demand for Eb3/EB2 that is going to see-saw, this should be an action item that will benefit EB on a whole, not a particular sub category.
It is not only about USCIS to follow law my friend, it is about bringing about a new law to relieve us from huge backlog.
That I believe can be only possible with the recapture visa bill. And we all need to shoulder each other through this.

Thanks for your comment.I am afraid you mis understood what I said medicine and pharnact vet med etc. There are practitioners in these fields called MD, DVM, PHARM D etc. However there are many more PhD students who do research in these fields. And they are not listed as STEM graduates. I guess whoever did this listing of the STEM majors don't really have much knowledge about various fields of research and also they ignored the highly multidisciplanary nature of the current day research. I hope more people will start taking this issue seriously.

It certainly seems like the RFE rate for supportive evidence has increased recently. Certainly for the 140 cases but also for other petitions as well. I had never received an RFE before, but recently got 2 for different petitions. An RFE always makes you a little antsy no matter how routine it is.
We are also hearing about PERM audits higher and denials also more frequently.
So far the RFEs seem to be for the common issues, like ability to pay, education qualifications etc.
It might be a good idea for someone to compile a list of typical RFEs at various stages. The rest of us can start adding for the benefit of those who get one in the future. In fact it might have been done already. I remember Logiclife putting something together during that 485 filing time in July/Aug.

Thanks everyone for being patient and supporting us. The work is happening at all ends and it is an uphill task.
We really need to increase our membership. Higher membership will mean us looking tall when we meet lawmakers. Please all try to help us spread the word of IV to everyone you know that is stuck in retrogression. We represent at least half million people but we currently not even have 6 thousand members. Thus we have to bring lot many people into IV. I would encourage everyone to pls. register on this forum instead of being visitors.
Pls try to help us increase our membership in your own capacity, in any way you can. This is something everyone on this forum can help us with.
What is current strenght of IV? I have not seen the number changed or updated for long?...Any update on Membership count as well as funds will be appreciated
