You can't do anything to ICICI - they are private banks and the way they have agreements when you send money - they can tweak dates when to actually dump the cash , change exchange rates anytime ( within a reasonable range) to increase their Profit margins. Its just a smart way of doing business and making - i wont call that 'stealing money'
If you want to be smarter than them jump to online SBI boat , they have the best Online rate and let ICICI know next time that you switched loyalty because they were getting smarted beyond range.

Let me know how you feel the online SBI - they are always 15-10 p more than ICICI or CITI so at the end of year if you save average $25k you are anyway saving Rs 2.5-3k. Not a big thing but they maintain some ethics about tweaking rates and the exact day they dump the cash to your account - i got about 43.25 when market rate was 43.57 and those smart banks ( or thieves) were doing around 43.07..43.12

I have talked to IMG sales rep, he said they won't cover for pre existing conditions. He also said that as far as his knowledge is concerned there is no company out there that covers pre existing conditions when I asked him about it.
My final assumption is that any insurance we buy anywhere, just covers illnesses that are developed after the coverage starts.

It is just speculation that it will take 10 years or 15 years. Actually past 3 years atleast 50% h1 were used by TCS,WIPRO and similar companies. So those who are processing gc is less. But it may take some time to clear current backlog as we had 195k H1 cap till 2003. If 65k h1 cap is there then it will be 3 year waiting period for EB2 and 4 to 5 year for Eb3. People will speculate based on number of H1s. But their calculation is not including the number of people who are giving up and also many people are going back. Quite honestly I think the best value from an MBA is derived from the timing, i.e. where one is in his / her career. I had a B Com (Accounting) from University of Sydney, an American CPA, combined with 10 years of work experience whilst enrolling for the MBA. I knew ahead, the curriculum wasn't going to bring added technical knowledge, however, it did bring some new ways of approaching the business community. Having the opportunity to sit in a class room and share / hear experiences from some of the successful executives does broaden the thought process. The program also helps build / expand the network. Again, I didn't feel I learnt something groundbreaking on the technical aspects of accounting / financial analysis, or the everyday business etc, but I wouldn't say it was completely useless. Plus for some reason, the "tag" does help.
BTW, I'm not sure the background of those who provided you feedback. My sentiments are shared at least by 3 good friends. One is a Wharton Alum and the other two, from University of Toronto. All of whom had at least 14 years of work experience, and were Canadian Chartered Accountants at the time of enrollment. The feedback could vary depending on the backgrounds.
May be that is the reason you took offense when people commented on Bcom thing. An MBA is valuable only if your bachelors degree is valuable. Many people have this wrong notion that it does not matter what you have in your bachelors, if you get an MBA everything is all set. Companies need engineer + MBA combination. Very few companies hire MBAs for accounting work. DOn't confuse accounting with finance, they are different. I can tell you that for sure, as i work in finance.
Contents of MBA also matter, most people take easy way out by taking all bluff management, marketing and strategy courses. Very few take the hardcore finance courses such as derivatives, fixed income, and valuations (these courses could differ in level of difficulty based on school).

They came here since America showed promise.. they left because the way they were treated was not what they expected. Bottomline America failed to holdback those brainy folks. They may have said yes to you. They probably wouldn't have bothered. So coming back to our conclusion. Wrong question.. wrong addressee..:p

Driving License should not be a problem as these days the rules have been relaxed dramatically. In NY they give license for 5 yrs irrespective of ur I-94 date. Also it depends on how many yrs you have left with H1B.
In some states they are even planning to give for illegal immigrants. As legal immigrants we can renew Driving license. But it is a valid point for unmarried, as they have to keep it active until they bring their spouse to USA.

Interestingly I was discussing this with a friend of mine and he took his EAD/AP to the DMV and was expecting to get the DL valid for the period of EAD, but the officer insisted he get the I485 receipt and gave the validity like every body else because he is in AOS(I guess 5 years). That was a pleasant surprise for him.

Those who are celebrating .. consider this.. your employer decides for any reason to not continue filing I-140 or decides to let you go in 6th yr.. earlier you used to have at least possibility of sub labor.. now you are basically straight out of luck.. Also if microsoft needed some genius from China or India to join their team and the guy obviously deserves special consideration due to business need and/or his talent.. they are stuck..! It's not good.. yes desi folks were selling and buying these but remedy is worse than the defect.. they could have made changes to rules to make it stringent and almost impossible to get but no reason to place such arbitraty deadlines etc.. if H1B and GC is geared towards desi consulting.. it's should not and will not exist in the long run..

So not sure whether just go with insurance agent's attorney for the time being and just wait how it goes, even if the case goes against me as I don't have much bank balance etc I am not sure what they can get out of me..

If I were in your place, I would not spend money to hire my own attorney- not yet. I would let the insurance attorney handle the initial few months, and only after things start happening, I'd think about paying an attorney myself. Meanwhile, use this interim period to look for a very good attorney- meet with a couple of them and decide which one would you choose, if you had to. Personal liability defense is handled best by firms specialized in tort defense (eg. who defend medical malpractise suits), and NOT by trial lawyers who are mostly experienced with plaintiff's cases.
Another thing, since YOU were the one who seems to have experienced most injuries in the accident, didn't you get letters from trial lawyers offering to sue the other folks and ask for damages (since THEY were at least 20% responsible for your injuries)? Such trial lawyers do not take any money from you upfront- they only take a % of the money recovered. This might make things too messy for you to handle- but give it a thought; sometimes offense is the best defence.
Some folks have advised you to move money etc out of this country- but remember this can backfire. Any financial transaction you do now, will be heavily scrutinized if there is a trial and will be treated as fraud if they are seen as attempts to hide money. This will bring in additional charges and the court will order for reversal of all these transactions. So tread carefully, my friend.

Why will it move PDs faster than now? Thanks.
Because consulting companies dont necessarily cancel pending labor applications when somebody quits. They let it run through the process and use that to substitute to a new employee. If they cant use it due to this new law, nobody else would jump in front of us in the queue.
Not sure whether this will help to move PDs faster, but will help a little. At this pace, if you can expect GC in 15 yrs, if Labor substitution is eliminated you might get ur GC in 13 yrs. :( (Saves you a Whopping 2 yrs of wait time)

This is truly unfair where country of birth determined who gets an 'Employment' based greencard before someone else. It can only be fixed by eliminating per-country limits.
Yes it is unfair in some ways. Couple of my very close friends (who are also colleagues) --one is of Lebanese Origin, raised in Dubai, and the other, Taiwanese Origin, raised in Uruguay. They are in similar Finance positions as I (though I am a step senior) had the entire process, from the PERM, to card delivery, completed in 11 and 7 months, respectively. Whilst I am waiting the last 5+ years. It can get you down at times, and feels like living in a constant state of "temporariness". However life does go on :)
