When employees post for job, they might say �need a citizen or gc holder�. But never say we only need a H1-B holder. So when we have respected and followed the rules of this country immigration becomes a right as logic life suggested.

These types of employment advertisements are discriminatory and are thus illegal unless it is work that requires security clearance. I am surprised that the Department of Justice is going after employers (http://www.immigration.com/newsletter1/doj_investigation.html) who may have advertised jobs for non citizens while not going after the numerous advertisements that discriminate against non US citizens. I am aware of atleast one high profile company that engages in this type of activity in its advertisements (however one needs to apply and be rejected in order to file a complaint). The double standard is indeed disturbing :

You have a valid point about gctest. But again, there is no way EB2/EB3 gets to port to EB1. If it was so, then it would be a chaos here. Only porting that happens is E3 to EB2 and may be that's why he used EB3 in his post.

With the attitude towards immigration in this country, i really doubt this bill will pass :(, i really hope it does though, i think the USICS is a strong believer of "sabar ka phal meeta hota hai", translated, the fruit of a long wait is sweet, i just hope the wait is not too long and the fruit rotten

However, the congress returns in September and IV Core will update us on the situation. There is still no reason to believe that this is bill is completely dead, so keep checking IV site and when there is an update from Core, put in your effort AND get your friends involved too.
You can actually start getting your friends in similar situation involved right now. Get them registered and get them to read up on IV in general. The only way we can get any reform is by numbers. I hope you have already joined your state chapter and look forward to your continued presence and contribution to IV.

From the article it seems Tancredo gives wrong information about H1b. Generally CNN is not responsible for any other person is giving wrong information in the interviews unless CNN accepts the information. Daily they are interviewing many people including Politicians and there is lot of chance for wrong information. Many persons gave wrong information about Iraq in CNN but CNN could not be responsible for that. If Lou Dobbs gives/accepts wrong information then we can complain about him in CNN. So if action needs to be taken we need to protest Tancredo for his comments.
From the video clipping it looks like a visual of Tom T and inserted in Lou Dobbs program. There is no interaction between Lou Dobbs and Tom. I mean it doesn't sound like Lou is interviewing him. So if it's just a sound byte in Lou Dobb's program he is approving it and he is responsible for the content. I think the petition to CNN is valid and has merit.

You might look down on certain universities or degrees but in the end employers care more about skill and experience and so does USCIS

You can console yourself with the word 'skill' and all that computer jargon The bottomline is H1B visa is for professionals. However, in the past few years, Indian IT bodyshops have sent underskilled computer operators to the US to enhance their operating margins. This will come to end very soon and has to come to an end very soon. I think the process has already begun. Number of H1b visas rejected at Indian bodyshops have gone up. Operating margins at Infosys has shrunk significantly. Infosys and other bodyshops have seen stock price plummet drastically.
Companies such as Congizant have stopped bringing people from India on H1. Rather they are trying to hire people in the US who already have H1B visas. The illegals who have gotton their H1B from shady consultants in NJ, CA and elsewhere. Congizant is doing community service by legalizing illegals. The people who sat on the bench during recession while holding their H1B visas without a paycheck. Sorry with paycheck which needs to be refunded to the employer by personal check. Stop the fraud, please stop the fraud.
