Dear Core IV members. It is clear how tirelessly you have worked, let alone the time and money you spent, sitting in tht comfort of our homes and using our credit cards to make a small contribution of 200 dollars twice or thrice is pales in comparison to what the core mebers have done. Look at things you can see..we came on shustermans newsletter this month, we came on NBC nightly news,.. and dont forget there are things which are happening that we cannot see. Appreciate the core team with words, please donot doubt them, without them we had nothing, anything is better than nothing!!

Is it okay to have an internal transfer (same company, from East Coast to West Coast) after obtaining the Green Card? Or transferring after 6 months to 1 year would be better?
If it's okay to transfer right away, does the new position need to have the same/similar title, duties, and salary?

Hi,
I have the same problem in Rutgers, New Jersey. I spoke to someone at the governor's office. Apparently, this residency definition is a federal law. States like CA had to pass legislation in the state to override the federal law. So if one want this to change, then there is to be an amendment. The schools are following the law.

Ok I guess I made my decision(or however you spell it). I am posting the actual image and links to the images I used. Oh and the .psd file of course.

Not sure why you guys still use the paper filing route rather than e-filing. Then you wouldnt be wondering about check cashing etc etc. I have e-filed for both AP and EAD for the last 3 years. Last time my wife's e-filed EAD came in less than 4 weeks.

I wish all I-485 filers should get there receipt , EAD and AP as well as Final GC as soon as possible.
skdskd and sanjeev_2004 sound one and the same, what are you doing, trying to have some support because nobody is supporting you, i can see that you are fooling in here all day and blame that somebody wants ead for day to day living ? it is you losers who spend all day here fooling around making fun of others, go get a life outside this kind of cheap jokes.

The calm before the storm ... I think every one atleast in IT is in a wait and watch mode .... its still all too sudden ... end of Q1 2009 we will really begin to see the actual effects.... thats when most companies in US will be posting their earnings / license renewals etc ... defaults there?? Im keeping my fingers crossed ... hopefully we come out of this mess soon...

Please do not mix social issues with immigration, this is not a forum about one particular country or its social manifestations (like how do I marry?, should I stay single forever? How am I going to find a girl?). These questions are absurd from American / immigration standpoint. If you already have a spouse and have immigration issues related to those situations then yes that is valid to ask here but otherwise (But how do I get the spouse then???) is purely a social / cultural issue. Please stick to immigration issues.

best is to find another job..and do a H1 transfer premium processing..since the RFE was with his company and not his credentials he should be safe..
My i94 expired on May 18th 2007,filed for extn around May 11th..then I filed for a H1 transfer on June 25th before the H1 extn was approved,we dint have the H1 reciept notice too as NSC was delaying issuing of reciept notices..
thankfully it was approved though the earlier H1 was not extended(this is called H1 bridging...)
but it may raise flags to the Immigration officer,cos the i94 expired in Dec..rfe was issued..better to consult attorney instead of taking wild chances..
trust me 1000$ speak/work a lot in these issues..

sometime's if they need to do some background-investigation to get more info on your visa status / educational background / name check or what-ever for no-reason etc , they just place you in this status. the tricky thing is do never know how long the wait is. ive heard / read some people have to wait in months for no reason. you should be happy that you received it in 2 weeks.

What is Ron basing his prediction on... I am not sure the trend says so... Can anyone please share his logic?
Well if you read the post by ron, someone has already asked him, on what basis do you predict the date and he simply has replied like this,
"I'm basing that date on what I've been told by the Visa Office."
May be he is in constant touch with the folks at USCIS and not DOS. But one thing if you notice, this guy (Ron) has been correct in whatever he says in the past......
I am in EB3 but i am happy that things move forward for atleast EB2 folks because we can get as many people as possible out of the queue..... with hopes that one day eb3 would move forward too :(

Send a Certified email with receipt /delivery acknowledgment to the employer with your request. Prepare a proper trail of documentation. If the employer does not relent, report the same to IRS after consultation with a tax consultant.

I didn't send a certified mail but I have a reply to my email saying that they didn't received the statements from the Insurance Company and we can still report those missing wages without a W2 from the company.
Can we use this as a proof of contacting employer requesting for a corrected W2?
