Lou "Liar" Dobbs is coming to Michigan ...................................

Don't be suprised if you start receiving dirty looks from American co-workers at your worksite. Worst case you and your family may get mugged by a stranger who has been fired up by the recent "progressive" baloney that cheap foreign labor is preventing "minority" communities from receiving their fair share of STEM jobs.

If such unfortunate incidents increase in the future, you know whom to blame - YOU. If only you were more active in protecting your interests, such incidents could've been avoided.

    ....................................

Walking_dude I really appreciate your passion.

What do you mean by inactivity of a collective "YOU" ? Inactivity in taking on people like Lou or inactivity on participating IV campaigns to get GC quickly ?

If you are talking about taking on people like Lou, with all due respect, this is over simplification of the issue. Lets face it, He has the highest ranking show in CNN. Most people who indulge in populist propaganda will be successful , at least in the short run. You need a HUGE propaganda machine even to attempt to take on him. Just read the transcripts of his program to find what kind of words he used against Newyork governor (Indicative of his arrogance from success).

On the other hand if some one gives me a look based on how I look, they will give it even after I get my GC and Citizenship. The mugger will not ask me my visa status. I get mugged even after I became a citizen.

This is not to support the inactivity. I appreciate the efforts put in by one and all and I believe those actions help reduce the suffering.
This is just to point out the fact that some members wittingly or unwittingly suggesting that not having GC is cause for all problems. It certainly help alleviate some but it is not a cure all.

Once again I am merely trying to they are two different issues.

I see another question too on legal immigration...vote for that too..we need to bring forward legal immigration questions

    Question on: Immigration
Illegal immigration has been a topic of heated debate and has received much needed attention during this election. In the midst of all the hype and bickering about ILLEGAL immigration, there is a group of people, often forgotten and ignored, who are caught up in a bureaucratic mess and yet are patiently waiting on the path to LEGAL immigration. This is a group of high skilled workers, most of whom have advanced degrees in medicine, engineering and science from Universities in the US. These people have obeyed all laws, worked hard, paid taxes and waited their turn, many for a decade, because of a system that is hopelessly broken and inefficient. I am one of these people and I have been in the US legally for 10 years and still years away from getting a green card. As the President of the United States how do you intend to address the problems faced by future Americans already living and working LEGALLY in the United States? Please note, this question is NOT about ILLEGAL immigration but about LEGAL immigration.

@snathan oh no he never got me any interviews , he was basking away in the sun with his wife on the hammock with him, these were all my efforts of trying to find a job somewhere by posting on job sites, calling up companies, using my friend's reference, but i realize that even doing that companies here follow a longer process or some no process to actually keep the candiate informed about the status. This was way different in my home country.

anyways yeah i know atleast 5 guys who have all been thru this company who have all flown in on their own and who did not blow the whistle.

I initially called only half of the congressman and selected option 2 for the poll. Now I finished calling all. How do I change my vote to option 1? Or if someone could do that for me

    Thanks

While we are at it let me throw this in....
Assuming you decide to persue MBA from a good university instead of online. What kind of investment of time and money are you looking at? Is it really worth the investment when you are already in your 30's? Is is worth spending the time and money on a MBA? If you spend the same time/money on a business opportunity wouldn't that be better in the longer run? Is it practical to start a business when you are in the 7th/8th/9th year of H1b with no idea if/when you will get GC? Is it a safer bet to invest in education?
    ---------------

In my opnion starting your own business is always a good idea, of course with uncertainities with GC process it is another risk added to the enterprise.

In my opinion, doing an MBA from a good school can open up doors to further growth in a comapny. With jsut technical skills it can get stagnated.
Age should not be a restraint, but with age comes other responsibilities of familiy etc, those could be more limiting.

I think doing MBA from a good institute is good idea, India is really humming and has lot of growth opportunities for MBAs.

Is IV interested in doing a Freedom Of Information Act request to USCIS how and when they used up all visa numbers for EB3-India. That might show some information if they cooked the numbers if at all. We might get some more insight which monthly VISA bulletin does NOT give.

If these numbers are correct then total EB-I pending applications are about 125K only. Thats less than one year of total quota and If USCIS work properly then this backlog can be cleared in one year (ignoring ROW for now). But thats not happening and backlog is increasing every year, especially for India.

Howcome, USCIS reports that pending I-485 is 620249 as Jan'2009.

Something is wrong. I wish we can get pending applications per year per category.

    Thanks.

    pansworld,
Its not IV I am worried about ... I trust them completely.
Its the the big bad wolves out there :) .... they might use such info to their advantage ....(call me paranoid)
I believe, the best and safest way to disseminate such important information is through state chapters. I know what you are getting at when suggesting that we should be open about our needs and goals .... The strategic vision is pretty much laid out by the core and is clear enough for the general public (I think) ...
monetary needs... thats a different ball game ...

I agree that posting the monetary figures might not be a good idea. But we need to find a way to make everyone who visits the site part of the bigger picture. I see that happening if we have a Percentage Ticker on the site which shows how much of the target is met and how much is left.

This is applicable when 140 has been approved. If 485 is retrogressed then you will get 3 year extension. If it's current you will get 1 year extension. Guess depends on luck. For e.g if some one has applied for extension in July he/she will now get only 1 year. I found this in a lawyer's chat transcripts.

yes i believe so. i applied my 8th yr h1 ext on may 16 and requested 3 yrs ext. with receipt date may 22. in june my 485 was current. filed for 485 end of june. file prob. reached there on july 2nd. fiasco announcement. july 17th mess is patched up saying dates are current. on july 18th i get a response from atty saying i got 1 yr ext. even though 3 yrs were requested. this is because my dates were current in june & july when they processed h1 ext. but it's a pain to process h1 ext each year based on 1 yr ext.

Where can I find medical insurance for my parents with reasonable coverage with reasonable premium. Their age is between 55 to 60. Obviously they are with some medical conditions like blood pressure, diabetic... like usual stuff like typical parents would have...Can somebody suggest good one... thanks in advance.

I have used AIG for my in-laws visit and didn't had to use it. Why can't we add them to our insurance as dependants? Did anyone tried this?

I guess USCIS is getting pretty smart. To be a plaintiff in the lawsuit, your application has to get rejected. By holding your application, it is probably preventing you to be a plaintiff. Smart F***ing A**es

Thanks guys for your suggestions. But no thanks!

Let me continue with my action while you continue with yours.

My posts are not intended for you. They are meant for the rare breed that think they can make a difference in this world. I'm sorry to know you aren't that.

I would rather spend my time working for causes that I beleive - IV as well as Immigrants Rights, instead of wasting time on an on-line brawl. I'm sure you guys also have better things to do in life.

    Let's just move on.

I second everything logic has said,

Also it is really funny and I use to think it's just me, but I am glad someone else is also experinced the same,

Myself, I was able to file I-485 and renewed EAD 3 times, which means my wife is working from past three years, I have changed job using AC-21 twice and my salary is increased and have better job, which means I am not too much worried about getting GC, but I still contribute to IV and call lawmakers many times.

The FEAR I see among many people is really pathatic, I know couple of friends does not even want to talk to me on phone about this matter thinking that some one might be listening,
