AAPI, under the able leadership of Dr Koli and its Legislative Director, Anurag Varma, have been helping us behind the scenes. With acceptance of this Advisory Role Dr Koli has chosen to formalize this relationship.
Dr Koli is an Internal Medicine physician who has been in practice for over 27 years in San Antonio, TX and who has ably led AAPI on some fresh initiatives. One of these involves AAPI formally providing expertise to the Indian Government in healthcare � this was formally acknowledged by the Prime Minister of India as one of the great initiatives at the latest Pravasi Bharatia Divas.
Our cause is strengthened by Dr Koli and AAPI & their blessings!

Yesterday i got my receipt i check the status online the status is saying
Receipt Number: LINXXXXXXXX
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense.
On August 21, 2007, we rejected your fingerprint fee and mailed you instructions for how to submit the necessary payment. This case is now in suspense.
Please submit your payment with our notice as soon as possible after you receive our notice so we may resume processing of this case.
But USCIS cashed my checks i didn't know what went worng the total amount i paid is 325+70,170,180.
Did any guys get same kind of problem?
Dont panic... yet. On your I485 receipt notice, there's an amount mentioned. What's that amount? :cool:

the effort to address the ugly country caps and retrogression in general shouldnt depend on someone else's misfortune - why should we profit from some other familiy's heartache? the system is atrocious and needs to be reformed - even if you get your gc tomorrow, hopefully u wont instantly join the group that wants to shut the door on those following-& pls make sure whateevr u sire too doesnt turn anti like the nutcases that i've come across

I think that instead of exhausting our energy on this issue, we better think how to make progress in our fight against injustice. And to all those who are using an abusing language .... please show your guts when you go for your next visa stamping or when entering the United States on a port of entry and try to use the similar language.... you surely will get an answer/lesson you will remember for rest of your life.

No; the 485 approval and name check are two different things. Even after 485 is approved and your PD is current, you don't get the GC until the name check is cleared.

What Pankaj did was great. The idea was really great - earlier we made a youtube video that is linked on IVs front page and that also has the anthem in it - when I did that I was having the same thought - whether it would be a good idea??? But then I thought, offcourse , why not???? Just because anti immigrants hate us, it does not mean we don't belong here, we very much belong here and are a part of this society.
We must all be proud that we are here - remember - we may have come from different countries but now this is our home - offocurse tough situations may prompt people to return or many may not have a sense of patriotism.
Anthems must be sung from the heart and with a sense of patriotism and Pankaj did exactly that.

All right points above - we dont need to try too hard to prove our (IV's) original objectives and ideals. If they (antis or others with questionable motives here) are really interested they can go thru the website. Being anonymous web forums, site will attract different types of users and some noise may be almost unavoidable. Having said that we might need some more active moderation - as the IV's popularity increases the website is bound to attract more diverse groups of users with newer agendas. Moderation by only core group of people is obviously time consuming to them (going thru different threads and sometimes even following what is being discussed). I am not sure if IV already has this but can we have a basic user reporting type system - wherein we can have a high level sticky thread requesting users to report any abuses/violations of IV terms - users can post report any voilations they came across in the site - core group and maybe a group of more volunteers dedicated to just concentrate on forum content can go thru this sticky thread on a regular basis and decide. Currently we do have a reputation mechanism and PM to core but its cumbersome. There could be false/improper complaints in the user reporting system as well but atleast core/web-forum-volunteers only have to go thru fewer threads.

I got FP notice on 8/14 with appointment date on AUG 31. My application received on 7/2 and notice date of 8/2.
NSC sent the notice to me and to my attorney.

When is the last case for EB2 India approved?Just wanted to know the priority date of it.Mine is June 2006 EB2 when can i get my GC?Any guess?

In our case, the primary applicant has received FP but the dependent has not yet received, has this happened to anyone?
I called Customer Service and now they ask that we wait 180 days from the time the case is transferred to NSC before enquiring about it !

Try the following:
1. Send all the documents that are requested to the field office one more time with FedEx signature confirmation. Take InfoPass appointment and fly to the field office and see what's going on.
2. Find your local congressman/woman by using Zip Code. Call him/her and speak to person in charge of immigration matters. Take an appointment or send them all your case details and copy of all the documents. They will follow it up generally with the agency. Also, send a personal letter describing about the hardships that you are facing because of this delay.
3. Send the same package to both the senators of your state. Follow up with them by making a phone call and personal appointment.
4. Check with your employer if they have wage issues with DOL or tax issues with IRS or other RFE cases like yours in the past. Ask them if these are resolved.
The seattle, WA office or any other local office doesnt accept form I907 (which is for PP). After my case transfered to seattle, WA my employer tried to convert into PP. He sent it to USCIS, CA they said it is not with them so they can not accept it. Then he sent it to Seattle, WA with all the letters attached. The seattle office rejected the 907 saying they dont accept 907 in their office.
